It appears that everyone is getting into the Halloween spirit.

In a recent podcast episode of Report to Wyoming, the superintendent of Metro Animal Shelter, Scott Schell, talks about the potential for a trap-neuter-return program to address the pervasive problem of strays in the Casper-area.

On Tuesday, the Casper City Council approved the city to move forward accepting bids to purchase a new backup generator for Metro Animal Services.

It's called 'Whiskers and Meows Cat Café' and, as the name implies, it's part drink-shop, part cat rescue. It's also the first cat café in Wyoming.

Casper police say 6-year employee at Metro Animal Shelter took thousands of dollars in small increments during his employment at the facility.

"This community supports us so well, we want to give back to those in need to help make sure our #CasperCritters are well cared for," the post stated.

Animal Protection Officer services are available over the phone.

Animal control officers began by removing six to eight dogs from a bedroom.

In addition to the rabbits, 27 dogs of various breeds will also be up for adoption on Wednesday.

All of the animals were taken to the Metro Animal Shelter to be evaluated by a veterinarian.
