Saturday, June 22nd marked the 10th annual Lemonade Day in Casper and there were young entrepreneurs all over town conduction business in the form of lemonade stands.
Lemonade Day is a FREE community event, focused on teaching kids how to start and run their own business. Kids follow a 14-step process that includes budgeting, marketing, construction, research, developing a recipe, and tabulating business results.
When 9-year-old leukemia survivor Ashlinn Swanson told her parents that she wanted to create a stand for Casper's Lemonade Day, she also told them that she wanted to donate half of her earnings to the organization that helped their family during the worst time in their lives, the Jason's Friends Foundation.
In the end, It was Stand #14, from creator Airean Strong, that won the contest. His patriotic-themed stand embodied everything Lemonade Day stands for.
