Jillian Balow, state superintendent of public instruction in Wyoming, announced that she is resigning from her position to join Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin's team in Virginia.

“The draft rule is an attempt to normalize teaching controversial and politically trendy theories about America’s history,” Balow stated. “History and civics should not be secondary to political whim.

Many of Wyoming’s elected officials, as well as professionals within Wyoming’s oil & gas industry are reacting to the recent news that President Joe Biden is set to announce a wide-ranging moratorium on new oil and gas leasing on U.S. land.

State Public Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist said face coverings are essential as people can transmit the virus to others before they feel or show any symptoms.

The allocation comes from $13.2 billion budgeted federally to elementary and secondary schools.

Balow said social distancing, hygiene and enhanced sanitation in line with federal and state regulations will be enforced.

Each school district must have an Adapted Learning Plan approved by the Department of Education before April 6 to continue to receive state funding.
