Cheyenne police are warning residents about a group asking for money to start a new "homeless shelter" in the city.

The new shelter has seen an increase in people in need, and the numbers are expected to rise as the cold weather sets in.

The new facility will cost Wyoming Rescue Mission about $8 million.
