High School Rodeo

We've got the results from the state finals rodeo in Buffalo on June 4 to 6, 2026, and the Cowboy State's qualifiers for the National High School Finals Rodeo.

Thompson won two events and the highly coveted world all-around championship for cowgirls.

Hadley Thompson scored in five events, and Turek Thompson finished in the top three in the average of two events at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

The contestants were aiming for a spot at the National Finals coming up next month in Rock Springs

The State Finals for Wyoming High School Rodeo are Thursday through Saturday at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buffalo.

There's two more rodeo's this month before the State Finals

Yoder’s Hadley Thompson had quite the high school rodeo season and received the first WyoPreps Athlete of the Year award for Girls Rodeo.

The first WyoPreps Athlete of the Year award for Boys’ Rodeo, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming and Wyld Gear, goes to Gillette’s Keyton Hayden.

The State Finals are June 3-9 in Rock Springs.
