Hambrick ordered Skinner to pay $1,250 in community service to the Park's nonprofit partner Yellowstone Forever.

This case is reminiscent of an incident in May 2016 when of a group of men with a Vancouver, B.C.-based company called "High on Life"walked on the Grand Prismatic Spring.

The two men died when trying to save the girlfriend of one of the two after she fell into a pool on the third-tallest waterfall in British Columbia.

There were instances of drone pilots preparing their drones for flight but being confronted by rangers before they launched.

The three defendants entered their pleas during a hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark Carman at the Yellowstone Justice Center in Mammoth Hot Springs on Thursday.

Four of the High on Life group were originally charged with disorderly conduct by creating a hazardous condition and foot travel in a thermal area in Yellowstone.

Three defendants pleaded not guilty and will be appointed federal public defenders to represent them.

The defendants also allegedly have violated rules about public lands in California, and in Utah, but no federal charges have been filed there.

On Nov. 3, Charles Gamble of High on Life will plead guilty to operating a drone in Mesa Verde National Park in southwestern Colorado.

The attorney for the High on Life defendants and federal prosecutors want to settle all the charges against the defendants in federal court in Mammoth Hot Springs.
