County health orders would need to be ratified by ''a resolution of the governing body that directly supervises the local health officer" after 15 days.
State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist said the worst-case scenario would be if the state's hospitals begin to become strained from the sharp increase in cases.
Under the new orders, restaurants will no longer be required to space out seating in booths and the number of people at a table will increase from six to eight.
