Barth says Delta was to bring in a replacement plane Friday night to resume the trip.

Deputies had to use a helicopter to respond to the landing site and retrieve the family which had been aboard the plane.

The sheriff's office added that the investigation is ongoing and additional details would be provided as they become available.

The plane had mechanical issues and was diverted to Casper.
