A Laramie County Sheriff's deputy is in stable condition after being stabbed while responding to a call.

Casper Fire-EMS recently announced that a group of everyday Casper citizens saved a man's life.

The driver of the Nissan, a 68-year-old man whose name has not been released, was unconscious in the vehicle.

He was transported to the hospital and where he is receiving treatment.

The victim made a full recovery and was later released.

His medical condition could not be confirmed Thursday.

Much like CPR is rendered until first responders arrive, the class teaches people how to intervene in a mental health crisis.

The bill did not require CPR certification, which involves much more detailed training.

Bill sponsor Republican Sen. Bill Landen, of Casper, says he thinks it will save lives and money.

Under the current proposal, school districts would be required to provide instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation basics to students.
