One unidentified person was struck and killed by the train as it returned from it's annual excursion from Denver, CO to Cheyenne, WY for Cheyenne Frontier Days.

A 76-year-old Cheyenne man is dead after driving his vehicle into a train northwest of town.

Sen. John Barrasso told K2 Radio he was driving to the retreat.

Brian M. Nelson, 44, of Sacramento, California, has been charged with operating a commercial motor vehicle over the maximum drive time of 11 hours, for careless driving, driving while under the influence of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of suspected methamphetamine, with other charges pending.

The man was taken to Wyoming Medical Center for evaluation, and is expected to be released shortly.
