The Natrona County Fire Protection District is looking at a bleak budget picture.

Fire Chief Richard Ratcliff has retired, and the department stayed local in the search for a replacement.

No human injuries were reported at a trailer fire west of Casper on Wednesday afternoon, but several dogs may be hurt, a Natrona County Fire Protection District spokesman said.

There's a revival project along the North Platte River in Casper Saturday morning.
