Natrona County Fire District, Station 7, is up for sale as the fire district prepares for a future move.  Natrona County Fire Chief, Kevin Finn, met with Natrona County Commissioners Tuesday to update them on  progress toward a  new west side  station.

"The building is going to go up essentially on Robertson road and just midway between Zero and Poison Spider road. So its right on the south end of current construction out there.  Where the buildings are now, we'll be on the south end of that." Chief Finn told commissioners that design of the new structure is nearly complete.

He says it will have an additional two bays and will be positioned to better respond to western Natrona County emergency needs.

Finn also put in a request Tuesday for a first installment of one cent funds as the fire district makes its first payment towards the building. The entire project is expected to cost around 2.5 million with one million in matching funds coming from the State Lands and Investment Board.

The current fire station is located off of CY Avenue on Pheasant drive on Casper's west side. Sale of that property is expected to bring an additional 500 thousand.
