A former Chief Financial Officer of a Casper nursing home has been sentenced, for embezzling money from the facility.

Perry Vandeventer has been sentenced to four to six years in prison, after pleading guilty to one count of obtaining money under false pretenses.

Vandeventer admitted to taking almost $52,000 in fraudulent reimbursements between 2008 and 2011, while he worked as the C.F.O. of the Shepard of the Valley care home in Casper.

A judge has ruled that he must reimburse about $41,000 of what he took.

Nursing home management has blamed Vandeventer for accelerating the facility's financial decline.
