A single vehicle rollover resulted in the death of 28 year old Nancy J. Lassiter of Basin, Wyoming last Friday July 18th. The crash occurred at mile post 192 on US 20 four miles south of Basin at approximately 6:11 pm.

Nancy Lassiter and 33 year old Crystal R. Schantle were traveling south in a 1998 Buick Le Sabre when the vehicle left the road to the east for unknown reasons. The vehicle was overcorrected causing it to enter into a 90 degree angle slide. The Buick tripped during the slide and rolled two complete times down a steep embankment. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt causing them to be completely ejected from the vehicle during the rollover.

Nancy Lassiter was pronounced dead at the scene and Crystal Schantle was taken by helicopter to Billings, Montana. The identity of the driver during the crash is still being investigated and narcotics use is being considered as a contributing factor in the crash.
