Memorial Planned For Fallen Douglas Marine

Memorial Services for a fallen Douglas Marine will be held next week.

22 year old, Lance Corporal, Sean M. O'Conner, was killed in action last Sunday.  A memorial service will be held June 22nd, at 10 am, in the Douglas High School Auditorium.

The Douglas Budget reports the family requests that those attending wear jeans and a Hawaiian shirt or other colorful clothing.  A private family internment will follow.

The Soldier's remains will be flown into the Converse County Airport Friday at 2pm and be accompanied by a procession through Douglas to Gorman Funeral Home.

30 soldiers from Wyoming have died while serving since 2001.

Marine Corps League Member, Leo Sanchez, says scholarships designed to keep the names of fallen soldiers alive have been going out to Wyoming College Students since 2004.
