Wyoming is one of those states where you can see as many off-road vehicles as street vehicles. Actually, maybe more off-road than the other.

A YouTube channel called Coddiwomple Overland is taking a trip across Wyoming and their viewers with them. In part 7, they start with Crazy Woman Canyon and turn south from there. These are the places that many people think about going but never do.

In part seven of our Overlanding Wyoming series, we head south from the Bighorn Mountains through Crazy Woman Canyon, then to the Outlaw Canyon on our way into the Medicine Bow National Forest. (Coddiwomple Overland).

Along the way, they show us the landscape and explain the history of each stretch they traverse.

The history of Crazy Woman Canyon, for example, the name Crazy Woman Canyon in Wyoming originates from multiple tragic local legends, primarily involving women driven to madness by grief and loss after witnessing or surviving attacks on their families or tribes. The most widely known legend describes Mrs. Morgan, who was the sole survivor of a raid on her family, and went insane. She befriended and was later found starved to death by the famous mountain man,  Jeremiah Johnson.

Enjoy their journey through the stomping grounds of Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid and then on south to off-road sights that can only be driven by vehicles that are made for the trip.

Traversing Wyoming is amazing. The landscape of the cowboy state is ever-changing with each passing mile. If you've never tried it, go with someone who knows the area and has the vehicles that can handle it. You'll never forget the journey.
