
Wyoming High School Outdoor Track Scoreboard: April 29 – May 3, 2025
Week 7 of the prep track and field season in Wyoming features 11 track meets on the schedule, plus the prestigious Wyoming Track Classic. Evanston, Gillette, Buffalo, Casper, Ethete, Saratoga, Lovell, Pinedale, Wright, Lusk, and Riverton host events this week. After one on Tuesday, the rest will be Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. The Wyoming Track Classic is by invite-only and is based on qualifications for the athletes to come to Casper on Friday for a ‘best of the best’ style track meet. Time is running out on the regular season. Teams are two weeks away from the regional track championships.

TUESDAY, APRIL 29:
RICK AND WENDY SCHULER INVITATIONAL at Evanston HS – Big Piney, Evanston, Green River, Kemmerer, Lyman, Mountain View, Rock Springs, Star Valley.
Girls Team Scores = Evanston 118, Big Piney 116.50, Rock Springs 114.50, Kemmerer 82, Green River 73, Star Valley 72.50, Mountain View 33, Lyman 31.50.
Boys Team Scores = Evanston 178, Rock Springs 111.50, Star Valley 104, Kemmerer 88, Big Piney 54.50, Mountain View 39, Green River 35, Lyman 34.
Laynee Walker from Kemmerer won the 100 & 300 hurdles, the pole vault, and took 3rd in the 100 meters. Brynn Bider from Rock Springs won the 100, 200, & long jump. She helped RS take 2nd in the 4x100 relay. For the boys, Cole Rogers of Kemmerer swept the 2 hurdle races and was 2nd in the 200 meters.
Out-of-State events:
Best in the West in Scottsbluff, NE – Burns, Guernsey-Sunrise, Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Lusk, Pine Bluffs, Southeast Torrington.
Torrington's Brooklyn Asmus won the 100, 200, & 400 meters. She was also part of the 1st place 4x100 relay. Illyana Ponce won the 800 meters. Natalie Hawes won the 100 hurdles. Trishell Pontarolo of Torrington won the triple jump. Jessica Hoffman of Pine Bluffs won the discus.
In the boys' division, Kannon Tippets from Southeast took 1st in the 400 meters. Lincoln Speckner of LFL won the triple jump.
Northern Hills Invite in Belle Fourche, SD – Hulett, Sundance.
Hulett's Josie Dider won the girls' 400 meters. Haylyn Cooney of Sundance finished 1st in the 800 meters. In the boys' division, Jake Schommer of Sundance won the 110 hurdles. Teammate Holden Ayer captured the 300 hurdles. Nash Downey from SHS won the triple jump.
THURSDAY, MAY 1:
BASIN NATION INVITE in Gillette at Thunder Basin HS – Campbell County, Newcastle, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Torrington.
Girls Team Scores = Thunder Basin 203, Sheridan 201.5, Campbell County 78, Torrington 47.5, Newcastle 30.
Boys Team Scores = Thunder Basin 224, Sheridan 175.5, Campbell County 118.5, Newcastle 71, Torrington 24.
Ashley Rogge from TB won the 100 hurdles & high jump.
BUFFALO TWILIGHT at Buffalo HS – Arvada-Clearmont, Big Horn, Buffalo, Douglas, Moorcroft, Ten Sleep, Thermopolis.
Girls Team Scores = Buffalo 214.50, Douglas 149, Thermopolis 103.50, Big Horn 52, Moorcroft 31, Ten Sleep 12, Arvada-Clearmont 3.
Boys Team Scores = Thermopolis 192.50, Big Horn 143, Buffalo 107.50, Douglas 85, Moorcroft 12, Ten Sleep 10.
Davdine King of Thermopolis won the 200, 400, and high jump. Buffalo's Caroline Crago swept the two hurdle races. In the boys' division, Bodey Kejr from Douglas won the 800 & 1600 meters.
KELLY WALSH INVITE in Casper at KWHS – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Cody, Glenrock, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Little Snake River, Natrona County, Southeast, Wheatland.
Girls Team Scores = Natrona County 175, Kelly Walsh 130, Central 113, Cody 85, Laramie 58, East 49, Green River 29, Southeast 26, Wheatland 16, Glenrock 6, South 2, LSR 1.

Madyn Waring of KW won the 300 hurdle race & high jump. East won 3 of the 4 boys' relays, but no individual won multiple events.
WYOMING INDIAN THROWING MEET in Ethete – Arapahoe Charter, Ft. Washakie, Wind River, Wyoming Indian.
Four different winners in the throwing events, but all were Chiefs.

BURT WILLFORD & LAURIE JOHNSTON MEMORIAL at Saratoga HS – Encampment, Glenrock, H.E.M., Rawlins, Rock River, Saratoga.
Girls Team Scores = Saratoga 128.50, Glenrock 127, Rawlins 98, H.E.M. 47.50, Encampment 36, Rock River 29.

Riley Westby of Rawlins won the 100 & 200 meters. Josie Little from Saratoga took 1st place in the 800 meters and high jump. Encampment's Kristie Jordan swept the throwing events. In the boys' division, Brody Johnson of Saratoga swept the 100 & 200 meters plus the 110 & 300 hurdles. Encampment's Gunner Henrie won the high jump & triple jump. Vaughn Grant of Rawlins swept the throws.
LOVELL HS INVITATIONAL at Lovell HS – Big Horn, Burlington, Greybull, Lovell, Meeteetse, Powell, Riverside, Rocky Mountain, Shoshoni, Ten Sleep, Tongue River.

Riverside's Vinaya Vanderploeg won the 100 & 200 meters. Teammate Kennedy Bassett won the 100 & 300 hurdles. Kenna Jacobsen of Powell won the 800 & 3200 meters. Lovell's Avery Walker won the high jump & triple jump. For the boys, Korbyn Warren from Powell won the 800 & 3200 meters. Lovell's Gavin Robertson won the 100 meters & long jump. Teammate Matthew Newman won the 110 hurdles & triple jump. Halen Strom of Lovell won the 2 throwing events.
MOUNTAIN MAN INVITE at Pinedale HS – Big Piney, Dubois, Farson-Eden, Jackson, Lyman, Pinedale, Star Valley.

Jackson won 3 of the 4 girls' relays. Eden Smith of Lyman won the 100 meters and long jump. Farson-Eden's Rebecca Smith won the 200 meters and triple jump. For boys, Jackson's Marco Rosales won the 100 & 400 meters. Star Valley's Cooper Lancaster won both hurdle races. Cooper Kintzler won the 200 meters & triple jump. Jackson's Conner Scott won both throwing events.
SCOTT HARDY MEMORIAL at Wright HS – Arvada-Clearmont, Hulett, Kaycee, Midwest, Moorcroft, Sundance, Upton, Wright; out-of-state teams = Bridger (MT).

Jaylin Mills of Sundance won the shot put & discus. Wright's Jaxson Neely won the boys' long jump & triple jump. Teammate Mitchell Strohschein swept the throws.

Out-of-State events:
PACS BYU HS Invitational in Provo, UT – Big Piney, Cokeville, Evanston, Jackson, Kemmerer, Mountain View, Pinedale, Riverton, Star Valley.
Star Valley's Jase Burton won the 3200 meters and took 5th in the 1600 meters. Kemmerer's Laynee Walker took 3rd in the girls' pole vault. Ayden Hartzell from Evanston was 3rd in the boys' 400 meters.
