Kelly Walsh Improves to 2-1 in 4A Football Pounding Chey. South
Casper-Kelly Walsh took a big step towards a 4A playoff berth, dominating Cheyenne South 54-7 on Friday at the Harry Geldien Stadium. The Trojans received contributions from a ton of players in a true team effort.
KW rang up 21 points in the opening quarter starting with a 5-yard run for a touchdown from Wyatt Humber to give the Trojans a 7-0 lead. A defensive touchdown followed that as Carter Alvar had a 47-yard pick-six to bump the lead to 14. Still, in the first quarter, Alvar threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Landon Walker so just like that, it was 21-0 Trojans.
The 2nd quarter was equally productive for KW with an 18-yard touchdown run by Walker, Humbel added a 32 scamper into the end zone, Kaecin Paded had a 17-yard pick-six and Brant Blocker ran a punt back 48 yards for a TD.
South's only touchdown came from Cameron Trujillo on a 4-yard run and Kelly Walsh concluded the scoring with a 35-yard run for a score as the Trojans moved to 2-1 on the year. KW will be in Gillette to take on Thunder Basin on Friday and the Bison absorbed their 41st straight loss and have been outscored this season. They will visit Cheyenne Central this week.
