It's not very often in life you can get something for free, now is one of those moments.

Award winning singer/songwriter Skip Ewing and Douglas Congregational Church is giving you that opportunity. Friday December 9th at Douglas High School, Skip is performing a FREE Christmas show.

Skip lived the fast paced country music lifestyle in Nashville for many years, writing hit songs for many of your favorite country artists, as well as recording and releasing his own albums.

Skip said he moved to Nashville right out of high school and started writing and performing. His first song that was cut by a big artist, was recorded by country legend George Jones and that started a career that has spanned for many years.

Here Are Some Of The Songs Skip Wrote That You Know

  • Kenny Chesney - Me & You, You Had Me From Hello
  • Reba - Every Other Weekend
  • Mark Wills - Wish You Were Here
  • Collin Raye - Love, Me
  • Diamond Rio - I Believe
  • Doug Stone - Little Houses
  • Brian White - Rebecca Lynn, Someone Else's Star, I'm Not Supposed To Love You Any More
  • Randy Travis - If I Didn't Have You
  • Clint Black - Something That We Do

When pen hits paper, Skip really shines. His career has produced many songs, albums and memories. At one point Skip stepped away from Nashville and the music scene to focus on himself and his love of horses. For a few years, he worked with horses at various places around the country and had been coming to Wyoming since the early 2000's and developed a love for the Cowboy State.

In time, Wyoming kept tugging at Skip and eventually he and his wife Linda made to move to a cabin near Whiskey Basin. That's when the music bug hit him again and the creative juices started flowing.

Skip began writing and playing again, with Wyoming as his source for inspiration, he wrote the songs to his 2020 album called 'Wyoming'. Since then, Skip has recorded a nationally syndicated PBS concert special, that will be out in January and has continued to write and record songs.

When the juices start flowing, it's hard to stop them. I'm excited to say that a new Skip Ewing album is in the works and will be released in 2023.

Christmas music is also a big part of Skips career. He released the album called 'Christmas' in 2021, with songs like

  • 'Christmas Carol'
  • 'Whenever A Child Is Born'
  • 'I'll Be Home For Christmas'
  • Mister Snowman
  • Better Watch Out

When Skip performs in Douglas on December 9th, he'll be playing all of his Christmas tunes and even some of his hit song too.

Skip will be joined by The Sunny Singers and local artist Montey Crummer.

Even though it's a free show, you will still need to reserve a seat. You can do that now at SKIP EWING.COM

Needless to say, Skip has been a busy guy, but always has time to chat.

Here's a sample of some of the tunes you'll hear to get into the holiday spirit.
