Two people accused of kicking down their neighbors' door and beating them had their preliminary hearings in Natrona County Circuit Court on Thursday.

William Quillin, 43, will undergo a court-ordered mental evaluation. He's charged with one count of aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated assault.

Meanwhile, a judge ruled that Natrona County Prosecutors have met their probable cause burden against Sharon Hinkle, 45, and has had her case transferred to Natrona County District Court.

Hinkle faces one charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary -- reduced from one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery -- and one charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

Court documents say on Wednesday, February 8th, Quillin and Hinkle, who were dating, kicked in their neighbors' door on Bel Vista Drive in Bar Nunn and demanded that the neighbors turn over a safe.

The neighbors -- a 71-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman -- said they didn't have any safe.

That's when Quillin allegedly attacked them.

The man was reportedly able to get away and went over to a neighbor's house for help.

In the vicinity of the neighbor's house, Quillin allegedly picked up a snow shovel and beat the victim with it.

The victims were taken to Wyoming Medical Center.

Deputies found Quillin and Hinkle at Hinkle's house on the 4000 block of Bel Vista Drive.

A standoff ensued and the Special Response Team was called out.

Quillin and Hinkle gave themselves up shortly after 9 a.m. the next morning.

Quillin is being held on $1.5 million bond awaiting his mental evaluation, while Hinkle is free on $100,000 bond awaiting trial.
