The man who allegedly walked through central Casper last week with a gun, prompting three schools to lock themselves down, has surrendered to police, Casper Police Capt. Steve Freel said Monday.

Dakota Hawkins 24, is charged with four counts of reckless endangerment with his ex-girlfriend Desirae Carnline, her mother and two children; two counts of child endangerment; and one count of disturbing the peace.

Hawkins pleaded not guilty to all of them during his initial appearance in Natrona County Circuit Court on Monday.

Judge Steven Brown set his bond at $10,000 and ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victims.

Hawkins was initially charged with aggravated assault and child endangerment, according to the affidavit filed with Natrona County Circuit Court on Friday.

According to the affidavit, Hawkins and Carnline ended their five-year relationship in March of this year, and she and their two children moved in with her mother and her boyfriend in the 1200 block of South Elm Street. There was no formal custody arrangement.

On Wednesday, police reported a domestic disturbance at the residence. Several people told police that Hawkins, accompanied by his mother, was pointing a gun at Carnline and demanding she give him their children.

The argument on Wednesday followed other arguments earlier that week.

Hawkins left the home and was seen near Casper College and then Dean Morgan Junior High School.

The Natrona County School District put Dean Morgan and Natrona County High School on a lockout, meaning no one could enter the buildings. Casper College also temporarily shut the doors of its campus.

On Friday, Hawkins met with his attorney Tom Sutherland, who told Assistant District Attorney Brett Johnson that Hawkins would turn himself in today when they could discuss the bond in court.

According to his Facebook page, Hawkins lists his occupation as "pimpin hoes & slapping bitches."
