Dwayne Bahe Sentenced For Beating Man Who Later Died

One of two Arizona men accused of being involved in a fight with a man who later died, will be spending time behind bars.

Dwayne Bahe was sentenced to two-to-five years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to two charges of aggravated assault.

Casper Police say in November 2014, there was a fight at a hotel on the 900 block of West Yellowstone.

At the sentencing hearing, prosecutors said Gary Jefferson of New Mexico was beaten in the altercation, and then had a heart attack a short time later and died.

Another victim, Kameron Begay, went to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Witnesses told police that all the men involved had been drinking earlier and someone had made disrespectful comments to another.

Bahe originally claimed self-defense, and attempted to leave the state, but before he crossed the state line, he was contacted by investigators, and then turned around, returned to Casper and turned himself in.

He has also been ordered to pay more than $16,000 in restitution to help cover Begay's medical expenses.

Meanwhile a co-defendant, David Watson Junior, has pleaded no contest to similar charges connected to this case, and is awaiting to be sentenced.
