Casper police have charged three adults and one juvenile for their involvement in the burglary of a house that involved taking electronics, prescription medicines and a gun.

Danielle Griebel, and Richard Stewart made their initial appearances in Natrona County Circuit Court on Wednesday, and Adarus Greenway made his appearance on Thursday.

Records for the fourth defendant, a runaway girl under 18, are sealed.

The case began on Monday afternoon after a man returned to his house on Pennsylvania Street and found he had been burglarized.

Missing items included a Glock Model 23 pistol, prescription medicines, several computers, checkbooks and watches, according to affidavits filed with Natrona County Circuit Court.

The resident told a police officer that he believed Stewart committed the burglary because he had been at the resident’s house and knew about the handgun and the medicine.

During that interview, the resident received a call about 5 p.m. from a check cashing service in Cheyenne that a woman identifying herself as Griebel was attempting to cash two checks on his account. When the caller from the check cashing service told Griebel the checks would need to be verified, Griebel immediately left. However, she left behind her driver’s license.

Two hours later, Griebel called Casper police to report an auto burglary and that her wallet was missing. Meanwhile, officers learned that a juvenile runaway was with Griebel.

Meanwhile, Stewart’s father told an officer that his son probably was at the Showboat Motel. Police went there and saw Stewart’s van. Stewart came out of the motel, saw police and went back inside.

Two other men came out, got in their car and drove away. Police took them into custody because of their drug connections to Stewart.

Griebel and the juvenile left the motel a short time later, began running but were caught and taken into custody.

Police obtained a search warrant for the motel room where Griebel was staying. Officers found some of the items reported missing from the Pennsylvania Street residence, plus methamphetamine and marijuana.

Griebel, after being read her Miranda rights, said the burglary was Stewart’s idea. She entered the residence through the dog door, and let Stewart and Greenway – nicknamed “D-Boy” inside. The juvenile waited in Greenway’s car outside.

After the burglary, the four drove to Cheyenne where Griebel tried to cash the checks and Greenway traded another pistol for methamphetamine.

They returned to Casper where they were arrested later that day.

At their initial appearances Wednesday, Circuit Court Judge Steve Brown said Stewart was charged with aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, and felony possession of methamphetamine. Brown ordered him held on $25,000 bond.

Brown said Griebel was charged with aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, and felony possession of hydrocodone. Brown ordered her held on $25,000.

Thursday, Circuit Court Judge Michael Patchen said Greenway was charged with aggravated burglary and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.

Patchen asked Assistant District Attorney Randall Carnahan for a bond recommendation. Carnahan responded with a litany of prior criminal offenses, lying to and being uncooperative with officers, and a warrant out of Michigan, among other charges.

“He’s a menace to this community; he’s a threat to this community,” Carnahan said before recommending a $75,000 bond.

Greenway responded, “ninety percent of what he said was a lie.”

Patchen, in a rare case of upping a prosecutor’s bond recommendation, said, “I’m going to set it at $100,000.”

The defendants will be making initial appearance within a few weeks to determine whether their cases should be bound over for trial in district court.
