Casper-Kelly Walsh was looking to 3 peat as the 4A state champions and really hard to earn that title with a 5 set win over Thunder Basin on Saturday at the Casper Events Center. The Trojans lone loss this season was to Thunder Basin but KW looked to have the match in control by winning the first 2 sets. The Bolts rallied to take the next 2 sets by 3 points each but Kelly Walsh dominated the 5th set to win the match 25-17, 25-19, 22-25, 22-25 and 15-6. Kelly Walsh had 2 division 1 signees in Corin Carruth who will be going to the University of Wyoming and Danilynn Schell who will be headed to Wisconson-Green Bay. Thunder Basin was a young team with just 3 seniors, led by Rigan McInerney, Angela Youngs and Chastin Nelson. KW finished the season 35-1 while Thunder Basin wrapped up the year at 31-8.
