New charges have been filed against a Casper man who prosecutors say was involved in a stabbing earlier this year.

Twenty-six year old Zacharia Johnson now faces charges of attempted first degree murder and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, on top of previously filed aggravated assault and aggravated burglary charges.

Investigators say in early March, Johnson and 30-year old Robert Simmons entered the home of Robert Masterson on the 700 block of South Beverly Street.

Masterson was stabbed several times in the neck, torso, leg and stomach.

Johnson is being held on $75,000 bond awaiting trail and could receive life in prison without parole, if convicted on the attempted murder charge.

Meanwhile, Simmons has pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated burglary and is waiting to be sentenced.
