Despite changing the way they count visitors and despite the fact that the park was shut down for almost 3 weeks in October, visitation to Yellowstone National Park in 2013 was the 5th highest in the park’s history.

Yellowstone National Park spokesman Al Nash says Yellowstone saw 3,188,000 recreation visitors in 2013.
