The Laney Rim fire near Rock Springs is essentially under control.

Now at 90% containment, the Bureau of Land Management has sent out their final update on the blaze.

The fire is about 25 miles south of Rock Springs, and has burned an estimated 13,198 acres of private, state and BLM lands.

Fighting the fire cost about $1.5 million before it was done. The current fire crew numbers only 58 and the Southwestern Wyoming Type 3 Incident Management Team turned over management of the Laney Rim Fire to a Type 4 Incident Commander at 7am on Sunday. The Type 4 organization will continue to monitor fire lines and patrol the fire perimeter.
