For the first time in his career Wyoming senior guard Josh Adams has earned the Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor.

Adams helped the Cowboys go 1-1 on the court last week.

He had a monster game in the 84-66 Border War win at Colorado State Saturday. Adams totaled 37 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. He tied the school record with nine made 3-point field goals. It was Adams’ eighth 30-point game of the season. He added four steals and two blocked shots.

Last Wednesday against Fresno State, Adams scored 16 points, had seven rebounds and tied his career-highs of eight assists and four steals.

For the week, Adams averaged 26.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and four steals per game. He shot 51 percent (19-of-37) from the field and 46 percent (11-of-24) from beyond the arc. Adams was also 4-5, 80 percent at the foul line.

The Cowboys return to action Wednesday at home against San Diego State. Game time is 8 p.m.
