Wyoming’s Election Process Gets A “Good” Rating

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A national study rates Wyoming's election procedures as fairly strong, although it says there is some room for improvement.

The report was released last week by the Verified Voting Foundation, the Rutgers Law School Constitutional Litigation Clinic and Common Cause.

It looks at the election apparatus in each of the 50 states, rating them on various standards of accountability, transparency and vote reconciliation.

Wyoming scored highly in three of the report's five categories: enforcing paper ballots and voting records; allowing for paper balloting for military and overseas voters; and ballot accounting and reconciliation.

The Associated Press reports  that the only part of the report where Wyoming was determined to be "inadequate" is in the policies it has in place for postelection auditing.
