CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A recent study has found that Wyoming workers are more likely to take advantage of retirement savings plans offered through their jobs than workers in other states.

The study by the Pew Charitable Trusts, 63 percent of Wyoming workers had access to retirement benefits through their employers and 53 percent of Wyoming workers participate in those plans.

Nationally, 58 percent of workers have access to a plan, while 49 percent participate in one.

Casper financial adviser Jim Glover says workers in the energy sector, which has recently been shedding jobs, are not at risk to of losing their retirement plans if they already have them but that employer contributions could become lower.
