Cheyenne area Troopers stayed busy over the extended Veterans Day weekend with three significant criminal arrests ranging from over 16 pounds of methamphetamine seized to a stolen vehicle recovered after a 15 mile long pursuit.

On Friday, November 11th, a WHP Trooper stopped a luxury SUV for speeding 94 mph in a posted 75 mph zone on Interstate 80 eastbound about 10 miles west of Cheyenne at 4:13 p.m. After speaking with the people in the truck, the Trooper had reasonable suspicion and called for a K-9. The dog alerted to the presence of a controlled substance inside. A search of the SUV revealed approximately 70 pounds of marijuana, 100 electronic cigarette cartridges loaded with THC oil and $2,400 in cash.

35 year old Haywood Madison, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, and 34 year old Keith Carter, a resident of Gardner, Kansas, were both arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center in Cheyenne. Both Madison and Carter have been charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. The seized marijuana and THC oil has an estimated street value of $290,000. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation helped with these arrests.

On Saturday, November 12th, a WHP Trooper stopped a passenger car at the junction of Interstate 25 and Interstate 80 for speeding 83 mph in a 75 mph zone on I-80 near the city limits of Cheyenne at 1:00 p.m. During the stop, a WHP K-9 alerted to the presence of a controlled substance in the car. A search revealed over 16 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a speaker box.

27 year old Miguel Pineda-Torres and 21 year old Vanessa Solorio-Yanez, residents of San Jose, California, were both arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center in Cheyenne where they have been charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. The seized methamphetamine has an estimated street value of 1.8 million dollars. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation helped with these arrests as well.

On Sunday, November 13th, a WHP Trooper discovered a stolen car after running the vehicle's license plate on Interstate 80 about 10 miles west of Cheyenne at 12:20 p.m. The car initially exited off I-80 on to Otto Road before taking off from the Trooper back eastbound on I-80. It reached speeds of 110 mph before exiting I-80 on to Wyoming State Highway 222 northbound. The driver continued to elude the Trooper eastbound on Wyoming State Highway 210 (Happy Jack Road) until another WHP Trooper was able to spike the car at the intersection of Wyoming 210 and Interstate 25. Shortly after the sedan was spiked, both occupants took off running and were both eventually caught by Troopers.

42 year old Rhonda Bryan and 35 year old Louis Santini, residents of Cheyenne, Wyoming, were both arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center. Bryan has been charged with misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine, interference with a peace officer and was also booked in on multiple warrants. Santini has been charged with misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine, interference with a peace officer, eluding, speeding and a stop sign violation as well as being booked in on a warrant.

The car was reported stolen out of Laramie County Wyoming on November 2nd. The Laramie County Sheriff's Office and Cheyenne Police Department assisted Patrol with these arrests.
