The Wyoming Supreme Court has reversed a Campbell County man's conviction on a felony stalking charge.

The court issued a ruling Wednesday sending Daniel Brian Walker's case back to Campbell County District Court for a new trial.

Justice Barton R. Voigt wrote the court ruling. Voigt stated that District Judge Michael N. Deegan gave the jury conflicting and misleading instructions on the elements of the crime that prosecutors had to prove.

According to the court ruling, Walker was charged with stalking after his ex-wife reported he had approached her and made a remark while she was shopping at a store in March 2010. She had secured an earlier protective order against him.
