Statewide Wyoming high school assessment scores for the 2016-2017 school year released on Wednesday afternoon show little change from recent years.

The scores for students in grades 9 and 10 were up slightly overall, while the performances were down slightly for grade 11. But state education officials are characterizing the changes in scores at all three grade levels as ''statistically insignificant."

You can see the overall statewide results as well as a district-by-district breakdown here. Students in grade 11 took the ACT test this spring, while in grades 9 and 10 they took the ACT Aspire test online.

The PAWS--or Performance Assessment of Wyoming Students--was given to students this year for the last time. It will be replaced in the upcoming school year by the WY-TOPP, or Wyoming Test of Proficiency and Progress.

The new test will assess proficiency in reading and math for students in grades 3 through 10, science for students in grades 4, 8 and 10, and writing for students in grades 3, 5, 7 and 9.
