At this hour, a number of highways and one Interstate are closed due to flood waters and damage from a storm the rolled across Wyoming last night.

Lusk was the hardest hit as the flood waters raged down the Niobrara River. There is a flash flood emergency now in the Lusk area with several evacuations along the river and in downtown Lusk. Reports of 6-8 ft deep flood waters are not uncommon. Because of the amount of water and the damage that has occured area highways including US 18, US 20, US 85 and Wyo 270 have all been closed and remain closed for an extended period of time.

With reports of over 5 inches of rain in the Buffalo area, Buffalo is also reporting flood waters in downtown Buffalo and damage to the senior center. Water and debris across I-90 has prompted the closure of I-90 in the are of mile marker 90 and 91 between Buffalo and Gillette.
