CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Searchers looking for a single-engine plane carrying four people from Texas are concentrating their efforts around Laramie Mountains between Casper and Cheyenne. The Wyoming Civil Air Patrol says the Piper PA-32 aircraft was reported missing after it failed to land as scheduled Tuesday evening at Casper/Natrona County International Airport.

DENVER (AP) — Police say there’s “no specific connection” between the disappearance of a Colorado girl and the abduction and assault of an 11-year-old girl Monday in Cody, Wyo. Westminster, Colo., police spokeswoman Karlyn Tilley says investigators “just don’t want to leave any stone unturned” as they search for 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway. The girl vanished Friday on what should have been a short walk to school in Westminster.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A University of Wyoming official says the school is seeing record fall enrollment after making a point of maintaining funding for student scholarships and increasing spending on recruitment in the last year. Sara Axelson says the increase in enrollment can also be attributed to better retention of students after their freshman year.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming is still searching for the right players in its defensive secondary. Coach Dave Christensen says there are seven or eight players who are interchangeable at different positions in the secondary. Christensen tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle he thought roles would be more defined on defense by this point of the season.
