DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Officials in northeastern Minnesota are mourning a Duluth pathologist and deputy St. Louis County medical examiner who died in a plane crash in Wyoming. Dr. Donald Kundel was flying to Wyoming for a hunting trip with his son when his single-engine homebuilt RV-7A plane crashed at the Laramie airport Friday. The Duluth News Tribune reports the trip was to celebrate being declared cancer-free.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A sawmill is expected to reopen in Saratoga in December, bringing what the new owner says will be more than 80 jobs to Carbon County. The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports that Saratoga Forest Management is now owned by Gary Ervin of Oregon.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A groundbreaking ceremony is planned Oct. 19 for an expansion of the Billings Veterans Affairs Clinic. The Billings Gazette reports that when complete the facility will provide outpatient surgery and other services to about 11,000 Montana veterans and another 10,000 veterans in Wyoming.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Wildlife officials in eastern Idaho say they were unable yesterday to find a wounded grizzly bear. The bear was wounded Saturday by hunters as they tried to retrieve an elk carcass in the Island Park area west of Yellowstone National Park. Idaho Fish and Game says a team found a blood trail, but it disappeared.
