Big games from junior Alexander Aka Gorski and sophomore Jordan Naughton propelled the Wyoming Cowboys to a win in Allen Edwards’ first game as head coach.

The Pokes’ new leader reflected on the victory. He also discussed going inside to Naughton and his improvement.

Both Gorski and Naughton had career-highs in points. Naughton grabbed 12 rebounds and became the first Cowboy in the Mountain West era to have a double-double in the first half of a game. Gorski made his career-high in three’s and dished the rock, as well.

Wyoming (1-0) heads on the road for the first time Monday against Montana. It will mark the first game between the two teams since 2006.

The Grizzlies lost their opener at USC last Friday, 75-61.

The Cowboys lead the all-time series 21-12 against Montana. They are 7-9 in Missoula. Tip-off from Dahlberg Arena is set for 7 p.m.
