The Wyoming Lottery Corporation has paid off a startup loan of $2.6 million, according to CEO Jon Clontz

The final payment of $25,000 was officially made on Jan. 30, 2016.

Clontz says the fact the startup loan has been paid means the first revenue transfer of $1 million to state coffers will be made on April 5. That money will be divided up among the 23 Wyoming Counties and 99 cities and towns using a disbursement formula which is based on population and several other factors.

Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen, who was on hand for the announcement on Saturday, says the announcement of the lottery payment comes at a welcome time with state and local revenues declining In Wyoming because of low energy prices.
