CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Highway Patrol is reminding motorists not to drive if they've been drinking over the St. Patrick's Day weekend.

St. Patrick's Day is Sunday.

The patrol says statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show that more than 700 people were killed nationwide in crashes involving a drunk driver during the St. Patrick's Day holiday from 2006 to 2010.

Extra troopers will be patrolling around Wyoming this weekend looking for impaired drivers. In other areas, task forces made up of officers from other state and local departments also will be on the road.
