A new vendor is now in charge of answering state residents questions about potential poison issues, according to a  spokeswoman for the Wyoming Department of Health.

Kim Deti says the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center in Denver assumed those duties on July 1, replacing the Nebraska Regional Poison Center, which had handled those duties for many years.

But even though the organization in charge of answering those questions has changed the phone number for Wyoming residents to get their poison questions answered remains the same-- 1-800 222-1222. Information at that number is available 24/7, 365 days a year, including holidays.

Deti says the change in vendors was decided this past year as a result of the bidding process to provide poison information.
