Col. Tammy Maas, Director of Human Resources for the Wyoming Military Department, says the intent to furlough notices that were sent out last week, before they got word of the pentagon's decision to delay the notification of unpaid time off for two more weeks.

Mays says they put the notices out on Wednesday March 20th so that supervisors could get them out to employees on Thursday March 21st. She says the guard did not receive the guidance about the two week delay until Thursday afternoon.

Col. Maas says says guard officials are meeting with employees to keep them up to date on what is going on.The Pentagon delayed the notices for two more weeks after Congress passed legislation moving some of the money around.
