Despite some positive momentum nationally, Wyoming gas prices are trending downward.

“Prices across Wyoming dropped about two cents per gallon in the last week, while the national average has gone up about a penny-and-a-half,” Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.com, said on Monday.

“We saw an uptick in the price of wholesale gasoline in the Great Lakes – prices spiked in that region, and it really pulled the national average up.”

DeHaan says the average price for a gallon of regular in Wyoming slid to $3.23 last week, while the national average jumped to $3.21.

DeHaan says he expects Wyoming gas prices to remain relatively flat.

“For this week, I see very little downward direction in Wyoming, meanwhile, the national average may actually start turning around and, again, head lower,” DeHaan said.

Gas is selling for as low as $2.90 in Casper, $3.03 in Cheyenne and $3.07 in Laramie.
