CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Wardens from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department have arrested six people recently on charges of boating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The department says wardens arrested the six between June 30 and July 8. Four people were arrested on Alcova Reservoir and one the North Platte River. A person was arrested at Glendo Reservoir on a charge of operating a boat while under the influence of illegal drugs.

Carol Havlik is boating law administrator with the game department.

Havlik says a boating while under the influence citation is every bit as serious as one for driving while under the influence. Havlik says accidents on the water can have fatal results.
