CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming drivers can now choose to have authorities notify next of kin in the event of an emergency.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation said Wednesday drivers can make their choice when getting or renewing their driver license. The option was approved by lawmakers last year.

The department says when drivers choose the option, the back of their license will indicate next of kin information is on file. Emergency responders can use the information to contact relatives.
