JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is set to start Friday evening in Jackson.

The race is scheduled to mush through 10 Wyoming communities before ending Feb. 4 in Park City, Utah.

Besides Jackson and Park City, racers will visit Lander, Pinedale, Cora, Alpine, Big Piney, Marbleton, Evanston, Mountain View and Lyman.

With its unique stage stop format, the race has attracted some of the world's top mushers.

The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race was founded in 1996 by Frank Teasley to make sled dog racing more accessible to the public.
