Marcus Mariota accounted for 292 yards of offense and four touchdowns, as the second ranked Oregon Ducks defeated the Wyoming Cowboys, 48-14, Saturday in Eugene.

Oregon (3-0) scored 21 points off three Wyoming turnovers. They also rattled off 41 straight points in the game after the Pokes grabbed a 7-0 lead.

Mariota's 15-yard t-d run on the first play of the second quarter tied the game. The Ducks took the lead four minutes later on a Byron Marshall 30-yard scoring run. Mariota added a 19-yard t-d scamper, plus scoring passes of 16 and 5-yards in the second and third quarters.

Wyoming (2-1) stuffed Oregon on their first drive with a goal-line stand at the Cowboys 2-yard line. The Pokes responded with an 11-play, 98-yard scoring drive that was capped off by Colby Kirkegaard's 18-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Gentry for the 7-0 lead.

The Cowboys would not score again until early in the fourth quarter on a 12-yard pass from Kirkegaard to D.J. May. That made it 41-14 in favor of Oregon.

The Ducks followed with one last touchdown that finished the scoring.

Kirkegaard went 19-of-33 for 284 yards and the two t-d passes. He was also intercepted twice, lost one fumble and was sacked five times. Shaun Wick added 122 yards rushing, while May caught four passes for 101 yards.

Wyoming put up 439 yards in total offense, but Oregon amassed 556 total yards and averaged 8.2 yards per play.

Defensively, the Pokes were led by Mark Nzeocha, who had 11 total tackles.

The Cowboys return home for their next game on Saturday, September 20, when they host the Florida Atlantic Owls. The game will start at 2 p.m.
