After praising the move on Twitter last week, Republican Rep. Liz Cheney on Wednesday deleted a tweet in which she expressed her support for President Donald Trump's firing of former FBI Director James Comey.

The tweet read, "Best. Termination. Letter. Ever."

As reported by The Hill, the tweet -- archived here by Politiwoops -- also included a photo of the President's letter to Comey informing him he'd been sacked.

Republican lawmakers celebrated Comey's dismissal, but a report Tuesday from the New York Times claimed Trump previously asked Comey to drop the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Cheney's office did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment Wednesday evening.
