Gas prices in Wyoming are on the rise again.

GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Gregg Laskoski says the average the price for a gallon of regular in the Cowboy State jumped roughly 4.4 cents last week.

“The average price is $3.34 per gallon, a month ago we were looking at $3.07, and a year ago we were at $3.28, so we’re just over six cents from where we were a year ago,” Laskoski said.

Laskoski says, currently, the annual production of summer blend gasoline is driving prices higher both in Wyoming and throughout the country.

“The purpose of that is to have a cleaner-burning gasoline available in the summer months – that summer blend gasoline has to be produced, and this is the time of year when the refineries switch from winter blend to summer blend,” Laskoski said.

Gas is selling for as low as $3.17 in Casper, $3.34 in Cheyenne and $3.33 in Laramie. The national average is $3.47.
