LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say the identity of a woman found dead in rural southwestern Wyoming in 1999 remains unknown.

The Albany County Sheriff's Office has distributed flyers with a sketch of the woman who was believed to be between 28 and 58 years old.

A hiker discovered the woman's remains near the community of Fox Park in August 1999.

Sheriff's office Detective Sgt. William Meyer says the remains were at that location anywhere between two and 10 years. Authorities have made efforts to identify the woman through dental records and DNA samples, but her name is still unknown.

Meyers says that among the better evidence recovered from the scene was a silver band with "M.S.S." engraved on the outside.
