Wyoming Auditor Cynthia Cloud on Wednesday responded to charges that her office lacks transparency.  The office was heavily criticized in a Forbes Magazine article earlier this month for a lack of transparency.

But Cloud, a Republican who is wrapping eight years in the auditor's office, called into KGAB-AM in Cheyenne on Wednesday to refute allegations of a lack of transparency in her office. Cloud said it's important to remember that federal law forces her office to redact certain personal information that has been requested.

She also pointed to the fact that her office has only 25 employees, including her, and said because of state budget constraints the auditor's office has not been given all of the software it needs to accommodate information requests.
